![]() Fixin' to git. Waiting for the main event Green Flag Practice went well on Saturday and qualifying was a success. We placed 8th with a 17.18 second lap time which was the best qualifying run I have made so far. The field of 43 cars was the largest late model race in history in western Canada! The field was very tight and to qualify well was an essential ingredient in being successful in the main event. The race started with 32 cars on the grid. That was by far the largest race I have ever competed in. "There was no junk, all good quality equipment and teams!" The pace was crazy fast with lap times around the 17.4's. We ran very well and floated from 6th to 10th. We were in 6th when an oil line failure caused us to end our night around lap 90 or so. We had a good car but it was a little tight in turns 1 and 2. Overall, it was a great experience to run with that highly experienced field. Hopefully we can get the car a little faster for the fall race in Calgary and end up in the 16's! |
